If you had asked me ten years ago what success looked like, I would have pointed to a stable career in biotech, a steady paycheck, and a carefully mapped-out professional path.

And in many ways, I built exactly that.

I’ve spent the better part of a decade working in marketing roles in the biotech world — launching products, building strategies, helping companies grow. It brought financial security, structure, and milestones I once worked hard to reach.
But somewhere along the way, something else kept pulling at me.

Twice, I stepped away from my career for a year at a time. What started as a break became something much bigger. Those years weren’t just time off — they were time outside.

Time hiking ridgelines.
Time wandering new cities exploring new cultures.
Time watching birds in quiet forests.
Time standing still long enough to notice what actually made me feel alive.

From our home base in Vancouver — where mountains meet ocean and the outdoors is part of everyday life — my husband and I found ourselves building our happiest memories around trails, trips, and tiny, unforgettable moments in nature.

That’s when the question started forming:
What if this wasn’t just something I did on the side?
What if this is the thing?

This website is my attempt to answer that question.

It’s a space where I’m documenting the places we explore, the birds we spot, the food we fall in love with, and the practical realities of designing a life that includes more of what makes us feel human.

I’m not pretending to have it all figured out. In fact, this is very much a work in progress — a bridge between the life I built and the life I’m trying to build.

But I do know this: travel and time in nature aren’t escapes for me. They’re clarity. They’re grounding. They’re joy.

If you’re here because you’re dreaming of more outdoor mornings, more meaningful travel, or even your own version of a “career break” — I hope this space makes it all feel a little more possible.
